Towards the end of June, Billy and I spent an afternoon at Castle Ward. Here's Billy in the car park, already looking handsome.

We parked near the old farmyard, but we took the scenic route to get there. Even though it was mostly cloudy, it was nice walking along the bank of Strangford Lough.

Eventually, after Billy had already sampled some local grass, we arrived at the farmyard. Bunting was being put up for a July event, one encouraging children on their summer holidays to visit Castle Ward. Billy was curious about the bunting. We had a nice chat with a couple of ladies who were getting everything set up.

Itchy foot.

The shed with the horse-drawn implements.

Young sheep on an old farm.

Sampling some local flowers.

Another look at those old machines.

More old buildings to graze around.

Back to the car park.

Full circle - handsome in the car park again! We weren't going far, though - we were just driving to the car park that is near the house. I didn't want Billy to get too tired.

Upon arrival, Billy was straight back to sampling local plants.

We approached the house from the back.

Stunning view.

Billy noticed his reflection in the window and wasn't sure what to make of it!

Billy, determined to eat everything.

Making our way around to the other side.

Getting there...

The front - or, I suppose, this is actually the back - is where you can join a guided tour of the interior. Sheep aren't allowed.

Billy loved the grass surrounding the house.

We talked to a couple of people who worked in the house. Billy wanted to follow them inside. Sorry, Billy.

We left the house and made our way to the café.

I had a refreshing iced coffee.

Billy settled at my feet for a cud chewing session.

Video here.
Billy was tired by now, so it was a slow plod back to the Land Cruiser.

Home, sweet home!
