Wee Matt and Ida's Potato Field Adventure

I wanted to take Ida out with one of the sweet boys (as I call them). One easy way to choose between the two of them is just to walk up to the gate and call for them both, and then whoever comes to me first gets to go for the walk. This time Wee Matt noticed me first. I was planning to use this as a halter training session for Ida, but she was very happy exploring on her own - I didn't feel like ruining her fun.

Wee Matt was too busy checking my pockets for treats to wander far.

The Potato Field was home to one of the two flocks of ewes and lambs. Hazel was in this flock with her twins. It was almost as if Ida knew Hazel was a friend - she wandered straight over there and introduced herself.

Hazel decided to come over to us - or maybe Ida said something - but she had to make sure all of her lambs were accounted for first.

Hazel came all the way over for some treats - her lambs were a bit confused about mummy's behaviour.

We kept walking until we reached the bottom of the hill. Ida was introduced to whins.

Wee Matt loves nibbling on whins so he fell behind us.

Another ewe was nearby, so Wee Matt decided to take a leaf out of Ida's book and go over to say hello.

He left one very confused sheep behind him!

We had so much fun on this walk.

Sheep, Sunset and a Sea View

I took the long lens out to take some photos of the flock at sunset. Of course as soon as I arrived in the field, everyone run to the shady spot.

Out of the shade, the light was lovely.

Flossie and Patricia.

Bella and her two lambs.

The lamb I call permanently startled.

Martha and her lamb.

These weren't quite the photos I was hoping for, but I think I got a few nice ones in the end. The sunset was lovely to be out in.
