A Walk With Billy and Jim

I went to the gate with Jim and waited to be noticed by one of my sweet boys - it was Billy who spotted us and came running.

It was a nice evening to walk in the Potato Fields.

Wee Jim. Crazy to think that he's exactly a year older than Billy. At least it's only the one birthday to remember.

Jim was enjoying the grass.

The bluebells were still in bloom.

This plant was bravely growing in the field itself.

Jim kind of trampled and nibbled on it. Lucky for him he's cute.

Going around the corner.

In the shade of the trees.

A lovely time.

Feeding Bonzo

Every lambing season has its characters. This year, one of the standouts was Bonzo - named by my dad. His mum thoroughly rejected him, and then every other ewe we tried to adopt him onto rejected him as well. He didn't help himself by refusing to drink from a bottle, but Dad persisted, and eventually, he started drinking. He put back on the weight he had lost and loved following us around while we fed the other lambs. On this day, Dad was away, so I had to feed the lambs by myself. Bonzo offered his services to assist me.

Hanging around, waiting on his milk.

Dinner time.

Post dinner hanging around.

Susan was helping too.

Peg, Teenie and Jim ready for their dinner.

Prue.

Jim.

Ingrid.

"Where's my milk!?"

Jim Goes Looking For Bluebells

Back in May, I took Jim to Tollymore Forest Park. It was peak bluebell season, and believe it or not, I'd never been to a forest when the bluebells were out. We didn't take long to find our first bluebells - they were growing next to the car park.

I usually walk along the river when I visit here, but this time I went uphill and just went looking for trees that might have bluebells growing under them. Jim was fascinated by this stream.

Even it had bluebells growing next to it.

We walked into a thicker patch of forest.

And it was so beautiful - bluebells everywhere!

We did get a little lost for a bit, but I knew to head downhill - at worst, we'd reach the river at the bottom and follow that back to the car park. We ended up on a path I have been on before.

It took us over a bridge and left us just below the car park.

I was so happy to have finally seen a forest with bluebells. I'll do my best to be back next year.
