It's become normal now for us to get the pets and the hoggets clipped a few weeks before the ewes who've still got their lambs with them. Raising lambs takes it out of a ewe, so her fleece takes a little longer to loosen and get ready to be clipped off. The pets were first onto the trailer. Rosie doesn't like the look of this.

Penny.

Rosie and Titch watching.

It's a novelty to see the sheep freshly shorn every year. They look so different without all that wool! Pat had some past customers airing their grievances at him.

Penny getting her close shave from Barry.

She's eyeing the jump she'll have to do off the platform.

Esther's turn, and Titch is next!

Primrose wanting to go home.

Esther always has an impressive fleece.

Millie getting the same treatment.

The lighting and textures of the shed put me in a black and white mood.

Fern coming over. She's wondering where her wool went.

Rosie's turn at last. Esther's doing the same thing she does every year - enjoying her first back proper back scratch! You can even see her tongue sticking out in the first one!

The pets done, it was time for Fly and Susan to get involved.

An extra pair of hands arrived in time to get the hoggets done.

Susan and Fly made a good team, helping me to keep the trailer full and the men supplied with sheep.

With three men, the hoggets were done in record time. My dad was kept busy filling wool bags.

With the last of the hoggets in the trailer, the dogs just had to watch.

The final few.
