Wee Matt took very well to his halter training - so well, in fact, that I started to wonder if he would be up to going for a walk away from the farm. Because of the time of year, I wanted to make the most of the trees, so chose Castlewellan Forest Park for Wee Matt to make his debut. He started grazing next to the car park.

His first time crunching through autumn leaves.

He wasn't bothered by traffic at all.

We walked along...

Until we reached the field with the cows in it. One was especially curious when she spotted Wee Matt and started to come over.

Soon everyone was over at the fence.

Wee Matt then took to eating grass again. We took three quarters of an hour to walk a relatively short distance. I was aiming for the castle.
But Wee Matt was in no hurry.

There was lots of tasty grass.

Finally at the castle!

I took this photo by mistake but it just shows you how damp the grass still was - and it's funny how each toe has ended up with a leaf decoration!
Wee Matt was very good. Hopefully we can get out again soon.
