Just June

June saw the chosen pet lambs - ten of them - put out to the field. Always a proud moment to see them running free.

Fern was curious and came over to say hello.

This is Greta - Lily's lamb. She didn't want her, poor thing.

My son, Spot.

Patricia - the big, grey patch on her side that she's named after has sadly faded.

The lambs adapted to life outdoors with no trouble.

Having the babies around makes the adults look even bigger. One day the wee ones will be this big.

Greta and Dot enjoying a cuddle.

Fern.

Poppy has decided that she loves water - troughs, tubs, buckets, puddles, all fair game.

Jess.

The oldest and the youngest.

Poppy.

Fly.

Back with the pets now. This is the youngest pet lamb, Petal.

Ginnie.

Nora.

Always happy to see me.

Dot.

I love these summer sunsets.

Bella.

Valerie, Patricia's twin sister.

I finished the month with a Blue Belle photoshoot.

It's just a case of placing Blue Belle roughly where you want her and waiting for her to lift her head.

The view, not as good without the pony.

Marvellous May

I love May because the first hints of summer begin to show themselves. The evenings get longer and everything is in full bloom - and my wee pet lambs are weaned off their milk and ready for walkies. I began the month with this year's oldest pet lamb, Spot.

"Oh, what a tasty home you have."

(It does look remarkably like Spot is getting chucked out of the house for trying to eat it!)

Poppy on the lane.

In the last few years, I've noticed some tiny wildflowers have started to grow in this field. From just a few scattered here and there, now there's a carpet of them. I had Susan out one evening to take advantage.

A few days later I was out with the flowers again, this time with Dot.

The pets watched us through the fence.

Just look at how many there are.

Dot showing off her dot.

Beautiful.

Dot is an enthusiastic nibbler.

We took the back door into the lambing shed before returning Dot to her pen. This is always a dramatic spot for photos.

And that was May - not many photos because I was quite busy. Onwards to June...

Puppuccino for Miss Poppy

Now and again, when myself and my chosen assistant for the day go and check the sheep or pop to the shops, we call in at a local coffee van, Primal Effect Coffee. It's a nice treat for both of us. Poppy always gets excited when we come here - the puppuccinos are second to none!

While we were waiting for our coffee today, I had a wee photoshoot with her. The summer decorations around the van are just lovely and the sun was shining (for once).

Those flowers!

There were lots of interesting sounds going on around Poppy, but she posed like a professional - which, I suppose, she sort of is!

We were also delighted to meet Poppy - another one! This one is a Labrador/Border Collie cross. She was very sweet.

Puppuccino time!

Always popular, as you can see. (I had a coffee too, but it was far too delicious to stop and take a photo of.)
