Twenty-One Days in July

The following photos were taken over twenty-one days in July.

Frida.

Rosie.

Sybil and Ethel - friends since they were born.

Ethel - unfortunately losing her cute, pink, Dorset nose.
Rosie.

Those two again.

Flossie.

Tilly.

The pets' summer home had a nice view.

Another day, this time in the morning, I went out with a long lens on the camera to try and take some photos of the pets from a distance. This is Titch.

Tilly.

While the adults were standing in the middle of the field, the pet lambs were happily chewing their cuds around the feeder.

Another evening, this time a more cloudy one. Josie and Susan.

The grown-ups are a bit more wary of dogs.

Frances.

Astrid and Flossie.

Fern with an itch.

Astrid wanted me to remember she is still here.

When she was clipped, it was revealed that Astrid has a perfect stripe running down her tail.

The pets are always pleased to see me - it's very sweet.

Marigold was especially enthusiastic!

Fern too.

Pearl's small size means she feels like she has a lot in common with the lambs, and nine times out of ten she's lying and chewing her cud with them rather than the other adults.

Josie.

Feebee.

Sybil and Ethel.

When they're first put out into the field, the young pets get fed nuts to help them keep growing. Once summer comes and the grass begins to grow, however, I stop filling the feeder. By June the lambs are on grass only, but that doesn't stop them congregating around the empty feeder anyway.

Frida, Angel and Fern.

Little Fina, the youngest.

Pearl.

Fina could probably have done with the extra nuts, but the other lambs weren't too keen on standing back and letting her have her share.

Flossie can usually be found inside the feeder.

Angel.

And finally, Frances.
