Let's go outside!

Spring is finally starting to shine, so that means that there's plenty of time to have fun!

Incoming!

Ben is a bad player. He just jumps on Pip...
06-07-04-11 (20)

And Sheila looks a little confused/repulsed.
06-07-04-11 (22)

*Sigh*... Ben! Stop standing on other dogs! (And now Sheila's getting involved).
06-07-04-11 (23)

Poor Pip! No wonder she's unsure of these two!
06-07-04-11 (24)

But Sheila and Ben play in a different way...

It all starts when Sheila has the ball.
06-07-04-11 (1)

Then Ben does some "playing".
06-07-04-11 (3)

06-07-04-11 (4)

(Note Sheila's growing annoyedness).

Then watch as Sheila looses her temper and chases him around a bit, grwoling at him the entire time.
06-07-04-11 (14)

06-07-04-11 (15)

Sheila then gets tired and sits down a bit.
06-07-04-11 (17)

And so does Ben.
06-07-04-11 (19)

After a sudden burst of enthusiasim, Ben ends up sitting on Sheila.
06-07-04-11 (13)

But where is Pip during this merry dance? She's watching, of course!

06-07-04-11 (18)

06-07-04-11 (8)

Meanwhile... the Mexican Standoff.

And whenever Sheila gets cornered, she bursts out!
06-07-04-11 (5)

Scary!

But Sheila always gets the ball in the end.
06-07-04-11 (26)

I also took advantage of another warm evening yesterday, and headed to the fields to search out Suckie and her lamb Georgia. It took me a long time to find Suckie, and the idea was that I would find her then she'd lead me to Georgia. When I did find Suckie, Georgia was nowhere in sight (Suckie's in the middle).
06-07-04-11 (28)

She didn't seem at all worried about her missing lamb.

06-07-04-11 (32)

Then, in the distance, I spotted a lamb with a pink nose, and I knew who it was straight away!
06-07-04-11 (34)

And just to prove me right, she ran over to Suckie.
06-07-04-11 (35)

And attempted to have a drink.
06-07-04-11 (37)

My, she's grown!
06-07-04-11 (36)

And I got a Grace update, too! She's doing increadably well, and apparnantly, I wouldn't know her if I saw her! I'm so glad she's had the happy ending she diserves.

The other lambs in the field were trying to get a nice tan.

Either that or they're begging for food!

Mother’s Day Visit

On Sunday, Pip and myself went to visit one of my grannies (who I call Nana). To help Pip adjust to the busy town, I took her for a walk along the busy road outside the house.
03-04-11 (1)

We saw some horses.
03-04-11

And some large and scary Labradors jumped out of their garden to meet Pip.
03-04-11 (3)

The brown dog was very friendly and came over to meet Pip some more.

03-04-11 (5)

Where ya goin’?
03-04-11 (7)

Once we returned to the house, Pip went exploring.

This bed is comfy!
03-04-11 (12)

Poor Pip had to stand outside while we had scones…
03-04-11 (9)

…But she was back inside in time to play with a tennis ball.

And she did some posing too!

And just before we left, I managed to snap this photo of me and Pip.

More Mothers

As today is Mother’s Day, I thought it would be a good idea to list all of the mothers we currently know of. I did this last year too (you can read that post here). Let’s start with the dogs…

Twee

Looking after Kim, Sheila, and their six brothers and sisters has clearly taken its toll – judging by the look on her face anyway. Twee is eleven-years-old.

Rua

Ben and Pip’s mum – see the resemblance to Miss Pip?

And the sheep…

Suckie

04-05-02-11 (6)
Mum to Georgia and Grace (who left the farm to find a better mum).

Darkie

12-02-11 (44)
Mother of Sam and Sylvia.

Bubbles

12-02-11 (16)
Mum of twins – one white male and one black female.

Tilly (Old)

26-27-02-11 (35)
Mum of Lily, a wonderful little ewe.

Tilly (Young)

12-02-11 (22)

Mum of twins, a ewe and a ram.

Speaking of mums, my Dad’s currently playing mum to a little lamb who’s mum won’t let him nurse.

Dad’s been calling him Archibald, or Archie for short.

He still stays with him mum because he likes the company.

She Dances with the Daffodils

Or sits with them at least.

27-31-03-11 (14)

Remember the Daffodils in this post at the end for February? Well, they’ve come out, and they are beautiful.

27-31-03-11 (18)

Ah… but not as beautiful as me!

27-31-03-11 (15)

That must be true… or she wouldn’t be in most of my photos…

Checking out the competition:

But of course, sticks are far more interesting!

The Night Shoot

27-31-03-11 (9)

I did some experimentation with a torch on Sunday night.

27-31-03-11

The original shots however, were rather bland, and I wanted something more different.

27-31-03-11 (2)

By upping the contrast and making the photos black and white, the pictures certainly looked different!

I quite enjoyed my voyage into the world of night-time shooting.
