Seaforde Vintage Rally 2015

Vintage Rally season is well under way, and the sun was shining down on Teddy and I when we went to Seaforde's annual rally a few weeks ago.

Rambo is something of a minor celebrity - he is at almost every vintage rally I visit.

Teddy was on his best behaviour as we had a look at the gathered tractors.

He associates tractors with having a ride, so of course he wanted to jump onto/into every one. I indulged him once.

A rainbow of tractors:

Teddy always wanted to jump onto trailers too.

There were sadly no working horses this year, but there was this little display to show the stages of planting crops.

As last year, there was a small steam engine giving rides around the field. Teddy had great fun.

This is Susan the pony.

Teddy on another trailer:

There weren't just tractors...

As we were leaving, the threshing was still going on.

A fun day.

Pet Sitting

I agreed to look after the neighbour's two dogs and two cats while she was away in the US of A for a fifteen-day holiday. This is not the first time I have sat on a pet - I have looked after a friend's hamster and guinea pigs before - but this is the first time I have sat on pets that didn't stay over at my house.

The two cats are proving elusive to photograph, but I have gotten a few photos of the dogs. This is Lady - she is a ten-year-old Dobermann.

And this is Milo, a Border Collie x Labrador, and a lady of sixteen years.

While the girls were being lazy in the living room, I went outside to meet the chickens.

Blaze the horse is only visiting to act as a lawnmower. She accepts carrots as payment.

When I went back inside, Milo and Lady were still lounging.

...But then I said I was leaving, and suddenly everyone wanted to be outside.

Lady watched me leave.

Don't worry, Lady, I'll be back every day - at least twice!

The Lawnmower

Blue Belle makes a good lawnmower as her favourite hobby is eating.

...and eating...

...and, for variety, some chewing...

...more eating...

...with the occasional pause to chew.

A pony after my own heart.

Sheepdogging

The sheep are even more worried now that Samson has had a go at being a sheepdog - and liked it.

He's quite proud of himself.

Of course, being Samson, he doesn't object to a break every now and again.

He always has an eye on the sheep, though.

On his second attempt at sheepdogging, he managed to get himself stuck with the sheep.

...I don't think the sheep have all that much to worry about, do you?

Black & White Sunday #5 ::: Over the Top

Sheila stands on the back of the quad, Teddy sits in the front. Every time I get off to open or shut a gate, Teddy puts both front paws on the dashboard and leans over to greet Sheila. It's really rather sweet.

Aww, cuties!

Miss Blue Sky

The sky was a beautiful shade of blue when I had Pip helping me to bring bales home.

I asked her to sit on some bales while we waited for Dad to load us up.

The view was beautiful from this, the steepest field that we make bales on.

Our trailer is loaded with bales. Pip is wondering why we're hanging back.

...This is why!

The plan was for Pip to sit on the very top, but I didn't argue with her when she refused to go any higher! It works better this way, anyway, because she stands out very well against the silage bales.

I wonder what I can make Pip sit on next...
